'Eleven Hundred' at the Student Union Gallery through Sept. 8, 2011

by Jamie Gonzales  |

Opening: Wednesday, Aug. 31, 5-7 p.m.

Eleven Hundred is an installation arranged by members of our Student Success Council in collaboration with the UAA Dean of Students' Office.
Each year 1,100 students commit suicide. Eleven Hundred will be an installation incorporating 1,100 shirts arranged about the gallery to raise awareness about the prevalence and impact of suicide on campus. Visitors will be able to comment anonymously on the effect that suicide has had on their lives or the lives of those they know.

The show runs from Aug. 29 through Sept. 8, but the opening reception will be on Wednesday, Aug. 31 from 5-7 p.m. We hope to see you there.
