Megan Carlson appointed Assistant Vice Provost

I'm pleased to tell you that Academic Affairs' Megan Carlson has been appointed Assistant Vice Provost. Megan, who is transitioning from her role as Academic Project Specialist, has worked at UAA since 2003 in the Office of Academic Affairs..

In her new role, Megan will serve as the Accreditation Liaison Officer between UAA and our accrediting body, the Northwest Commission on College and Universities (NWCCU). She will be responsible for leading institutional accreditation efforts and serving as a resource on interpreting accreditation standards. She will also assist colleges and departments in preparing for new and renewed program accreditation.

Megan is no stranger to the accreditation process. Last year, she served on the University's Accreditation Leadership Team, guiding UAA through the recently completed pilot program to contribute to developing new accreditation standards and processes. She also serves as a peer evaluator for NWCCU, evaluating other institutions in the region.

During her time at UAA, Megan has been very involved on campus, serving as Classified Council President and chairing the Staff Health Care Committee from 2007-11. Please join me in congratulating Megan on this new appointment as she enters the next phase of her career at UAA!
