'The Language of Trees' runs Oct. 7-23 on UAA MainstageIn Steven Levenson's "The Language of Trees," the lives of a young woman and her seven year old son are turned upside down when she learns that her husband, a civilian American translator working in a Middle East combat zone, has been taken prisoner. Enter an older neighbor who with the best of intentions merely succeeds in making matters worse for a time.  But eventually, as each character gets to know more about the other, it becomes apparent that the bonds that unite them are much stronger than anything that separates them.

"The Language of Trees" is a penetrating play filled with compassion, humor and the stark realities of our times.  But it never loses faith in the three things Americans value most: their children, their sense of optimism, and the strength they derive from each other. Come see an all-star UAA cast in this powerful play about the times we live in, reflected against the times we used to live in. This production is directed by Tom Skore.
