Dec. 15, 2011: Retirement party for CHD's Miriam Engebretson
by Jamie Gonzales |
Thursday, Dec. 15, 12-2 p.m.
Center for Human Development, 2702 Gambell St., Suite 103 (across Northern Lights
from the Mall at Sears)
Miriam Engebretson, Center for Human Development (CHD) business manager, is retiring
Dec. 31 after more than 20 years at the university. Miriam worked in several departments,
including Math and Psychology, before coming to help Dr. Peter Dowrick start the Center
for Human Development 20 years ago. Miriam has been the pillar of CHD who helped build
the Center from a small $200,000 grant to its current $7 million multi-grant operation.
Miriam worked tirelessly to make things happen on shoestring budgets-to develop procedures,
to train project staff, to build bridges between the Center and funding agencies and
to fit office furniture in tiny spaces, while maintaining tastefulness. Come share
stories and celebrate Miriam's new chapter on Dec. 15.
