Canadian sociologist Carl James presents 'Being Canadian: Race, Identity and Citizenship,' March 8

Carl James is professor and director of the York Centre on Education and Community, at York University/Toronto, Canada. He is author of Life at the Intersection: Community, Class and Schooling; Experiencing Difference and the book Seeing Ourselves: Exploring Race, Ethnicity and Culture. Details about his research on identity can be found online. This is a unique opportunity to learn more about ourselves and our concepts of others. This event is sponsored with the International and Intercultural Task Force, UAA Campus Bookstore and Department of Sociology.
