UPDATE: Tickets went on sale at 8 a.m. March 9 and were sold out by 8:10 a.m.

The UAA Concert Board is proud to present a stand-up comedy performance by Eddie Izzard on Friday, April 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the Wendy Williamson Auditorium.

Tickets are $35 in advance or $40 at the door for the general public, and $15 in advance and $20 at the door for UAA students. Beginning Friday, March 9, tickets will become available online at http://UAAtix.com or at the UAA Student Union Information Desk.

The British comedian and actor Eddie Izzard has been one of comedy's central figures since the early '90s, stirring riots of laughter from delighted crowds spanning the globe.

Known for his absurd leaps of thought and bizarre tangential narratives, Izzard said in a 2010 interview with The Phoenix that "I will go off on side roads, off the main motorway that I'm on. People know I'll end up somewhere. I do surreal stuff-historical-political, sexual-political, religious-political... I'm talking about Hitler and Romans and Stonehenge."

Beginning in April 2008, Izzard took his wide-roaming subject matter, sardonic hilarity, and brilliant storytelling on the largest comedy tour of his career. The hugely successful tour, "Eddie Izzard: Stripped," stunned enormous audiences in 34 cities across the U.S. and, directly following this tour, Izzard broke box office records in the U.K. by selling out a five-week tour in less than 48 hours.

Needless to say, Izzard's fan base is devout. The critics, too, have praised his talent: He has won two Emmys and the British Comedy Awards have twice named him Top Stand-Up Comedian of the Year.
