Please join UAA in taking a Stand Against Racism on Friday, April 27, from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. in the Student Union. The Stand Against Racism is a movement of the YWCA that aims to eliminate racism by raising awareness and UAA is proud to join the Anchorage YWCA and other Alaskan organizations for this annual event.

UAA is a campus affiliate of the National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI), an internationally recognized non-profit leadership organization that works with agencies and institutions to build inclusive campuses and communities. Founded in 1984, NCBI has a long history of working with individuals and groups to address issues of power and oppression and to promote cross-cultural understanding and social change.
The UAA/NCBI team is a campus resource supporting the institution to build inclusive communities of belonging. The award winning NCBI, Welcoming Diversity/Prejudice Reduction Workshop is offered to the campus community to further cultural competence,
collaboration and partnerships and build effective relationships within and across group identities.
