Learn about a career opportunity unlike any other! Discover how you can have a global impact and show the world a side of America it has never seen. Don't miss this rare opportunity to meet with a representative from the U.S. Department of State about the diverse range of careers available to you in the U.S. Foreign Service.

Steven A. Browning, the U.S. Department of State's Diplomat in Residence, from UC Berkeley, will be present to talk about careers with the State Department. He is especially interested in talking to those interested in serving as foreign service officers and specialists, as well as students who might like to apply for a State Department student internship.

This information session will cover the Foreign Service Exam and selection process, as well as the 22 Foreign Service Specialist tracks. We will discuss foreign language skills and other factors that may be involved in consideration of your application.

The State Department is especially interested in candidates who speak any of the Super Critical Needs Languages: Arabic, Mandarin, Farsi, Hindi, Urdu and Dari. However, other languages are also of interest and may give applicants an advantage in the hiring process.
