2012 UAA Health Fair

UAA Health Fair Oct. 17 8:30 am-1 pm; fast for tests UPDATED 10/09/2012: Join the Student Health and Counseling Center (SHCC) for their annual health fair on Oct. 17.

Fair offerings include healthy snacks, body art and informational booths on safe sex, fitness testing, breast cancer awareness, alcohol and drug abuse and hypertension.

Attendees may also take advantage of reduced price complete blood count (CBC) tests, thyroid-stimulating hormone (THS) tests, metabolic panels, cholesterol screens, vitamin D screens and HIV screens.

Please note new additions to the annual fair:

  • Prizes from the UAA Bookstore, UAA Parking Services, Student Activities, and the Student Union and Commuter Student Services.
  • Pertussis (Tdap) vaccine, available for  prevention of whooping cough, tetanus and diphtheria.

Please note the metabolic panels and cholesterol screens are fasting labs. For these labs, you may not eat anything for eight hours prior, must drink only water after midnight and continue taking any prescription medication.

The UAA Health Fair is open to students, staff, faculty and the public. Must be 18 years of age or older for labs and immunizations.

The SHCC will be closed during the health fair. Clinic will re-open at 2 p.m.
