Feb. 1, 2013: Deadline for submitting to Understory

Understory, UAA's undergraduate arts and literature journal, is now accepting submissions for its 2013 issue! We accept all forms of written work (fiction, nonfiction, poetry, etc.) and visual art. Simply send an electronic version of your work to us at uaa_understory@uaa.alaska.edu. Submissions are due by 11:59 p.m. on Feb. 1, 2013.

The magazine is also accepting submissions for cover art that interprets the meaning of understory; a layer of vegetation beneath the main canopy of a forest. You must include the issue's title, Understory 2013, in your mockup. Please include "Understory Cover Art" in the file name.

Entry guidelines:

There is a limit of six submissions per person (cover art challenge is included in this total). Please include your full name and title of the work in the file name of submission.

For written work, documents must be no longer than 10 double-spaced pages, 12-point Times New Roman, and in RTF, DOC, or DOCX format.

For visual art (including the cover), submit high-quality JPEGs, no larger than 1680x1050 pixels.
