What's Next: Ukraine

by Green & Gold News  |

For the first episode of his new "What's Next" series, Chancellor Parnell discusses the recent events in Ukraine and how UAA is working to help.

Learn more about the conflict at two upcoming events:

  • UAA’s Department of History will present a free roundtable discussion, "The Misuse of History and the Russian Invasion of Ukraine," on Wednesday, March 16, at 5 p.m. in the UAA Fine Arts Building, Recital Hall, and via Zoom. The panel will feature professors Liz Dennison, Paul Dunscomb, Bill Myers and Jeff Meyers, with professor Ray Ball moderating and professor Ian Hartman providing introductory remarks. It's open to the public and we encourage you to invite your friends and family. Parking is free.

Besides being better informed, we can take action individually and as a UAA community. If you can give time or money to relief efforts, there are a number of reputable nonprofits meeting the needs of displaced Ukrainians.

Though it feels like the world is grand and large, it’s often smaller than we think. Your friend, neighbor or colleague may be someone who needs a helping hand right now. Let's come together during this particularly difficult time.
