Honoring Black history for Martin Luther King Jr. and Alaska Civil Rights Day

In celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. and Alaska Civil Rights Day, we chatted with Ian Hartman, associate professor in the Department of History, about the importance of honoring Black History in Alaska and the significant role Black men and women have played in shaping our state’s history, dating back more than a century.
