CBPP 2025 Showcase Highlights

The 2025 CBPP Showcase Celebrated Community and Economic Sustainability
The 2025 CBPP Showcase is a wrap! What a fantastic event โ full of energy, insight, and Seawolf spirit! This yearโs theme, โAlaska Does It Better: A Focus on a Sustainable Alaska Economy,โ set the tone for a day dedicated to innovation, collaboration, and a shared vision for Alaskaโs future.
With over 500 guests in attendance, the evening featured thought-provoking panel discussions with local and national leaders who shared their perspectives on innovation, leadership, and the future of business in Alaska. If you missed the event, donโt worry โ these conversations will soon be available through our upcoming CBPP Podcast Series, so you can benefit from the discussions wherever you are.
Together, we also made a tangible impact. With over $11,000 raised for the Deanโs Excellence Fund โ including a generous $5,000 kickstart gift from AT&T โ the Showcase demonstrated the power of community giving. These funds directly support CBPP students through scholarships, mentoring, and career opportunities that help them thrive.
Among those students are Carly Flake and Ben Fugler, who shared their powerful stories at the event.
Carly, an Accounting student and Occupational Endorsement Certificate (OEC) in Bookkeeping graduate, spoke about how scholarships have allowed her to focus on academics without financial strain. She teaches preschool dance for fun โ not necessity โ and says these awards remind her that hard work truly pays off.
Ben, an MBA student, began his graduate studies while working full-time on a federal contract. After unexpectedly losing his job earlier this year, support from the Deanโs Excellence Fund allowed him to stay enrolled and continue working toward his goals. His story is proof that every contribution makes a real difference.
The Deanโs Excellence Fund Give Campaign runs through October 24 โ if you can give, please join us in fueling student success!
