Biography

Ian graduated from Carleton College with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Chemistry, and a minor in Spanish. By interning at a community health center, assisting in a biochemistry lab and working as a lab teaching assistant and tutor, he gained an appreciation for the abundance and diversity of paths one can take to become involved in healthcare. Upon graduation, he worked as a medical assistant at Planned Parenthood. His experiences with direct patient care and his upbringing in rural Washington inform his vision for an equitable and representative healthcare workforce. In his free time Ian likes to hike, run, cook, play boardgames, and enjoy the company of others.
