The 2014-2015 Alaska Victimization Survey for the Aleutian/Pribilof Island region was conducted from April to June 2014 and from May to August 2015.  Results were released to the Unalaska City Council on March 13, 2018.  Findings include:

  • 45% of adult women in the Aleutian/Pribilof Island region have experienced intimate partner violence, sexual violence or both, in their lifetime;
  • More than two out of every five adult women in the Aleutian/Pribilof Island region have experienced intimate partner violence in their lifetime; and
  • One in four women in the Aleutian/Pribilof Island region have experienced sexual violence in their lifetime.

Lifetime estimates

Aleutian/Pribilof Island region lifetime estimates. Out of every 100 adult women who reside in the Aleutian/Pribilof Island region: 43 experienced intimate partner violence (IPV); 24 experienced sexual violence; 45 experienced intimate partner violence, sexual violence, or both.
