1. Apply to competitive nursing ranking by program deadline. The UAA School of Nursing (SON) uses an independent organization that processes applications for SON called the Nursing Centralized Application Service (NursingCAS). All applicants must set up a NursingCAS account and complete the application to the UAA SON program of choice. All students applying to any UAA SON program must submit an application through NursingCAS by the stipulated deadline date in order to be considered for admission into the UAA SON.
2. Upload and add all required items into your NursingCAS account. All required application materials are as follows:
   • Official transcripts must be submitted to NursingCAS via paper mail or electronically. Transcripts from every institution ever attended (including international transcripts and applicable transcript evaluations by WES) must be sent directly from your college/university. Note: UAA will not accept applicant transcripts-in order for your application to be complete and considered for admissions they must be received by NursingCAS.
   • Manually enter every college course into your NursingCAS account (including all prerequisite and non-prerequisite courses). You can also pay a fee to have a NursingCAS professional input the courses from your transcript for you.
   • High School Transcripts. Unofficial high school transcripts must be uploaded into CAS. You can obtain unofficial transcripts from your high school or school district office.  
   • Prerequisite course descriptions document. Applicants with non-UA credits must create a single document listing the completed and in progress prerequisite course descriptions, copy and pasted from the course catalog in the academic year in which the course was taken. Please include each course number, title, term and where the course was taken. Upload as one pdf to the Documents section in NursingCAS. 
3. Once the above steps have been completed in your NursingCAS application, you must submit your application via NursingCAS in order to have your application reviewed by UAA School of Nursing. At this point, you should contact the NursingCAS office to confirm they have received all of your official transcripts and your application is verified as completed. NursingCAS Technical Support: 617-612-2880, Mon. – Thurs. 9am – 7pm EST, Friday 9am – 5pm EST. Applications will not be reviewed or considered without all official transcripts on file through the NursingCAS system. Note: Fee Waivers are available on NursingCAS if you meet certain requirements. You must apply for the fee waiver before you submit your application! If you have applied for the NursingCAS Fee Waiver through your CAS portal and it was not approved, please use the School of Nursing Form to request financial assistance. Applicants must submit the School of Nursing Form at least 2 weeks prior to the application deadline.
