Dr. Vanessa Meade appointed as member of U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs Veterans Rural Health Advisory Committee

Vanessa Meade, an assistant professor in the School of Social Work and a U.S. Army veteran, was recently appointed as a member of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Rural Health Advisory Committee (VRHAC) on a three-year term.⁠

This committee is charged with providing advice to the Secretary of Veterans Affairs on health care issues affecting veterans in rural areas. The committee also helps identify barriers to providing health care services to veterans in rural communities and recommends solutions that facilitate improved access to veterans’ health care in rural areas.⁠
