Final Semester Projects/Internships
Students pursuing a CNT AAS degree will need to complete an independent project or workplace experience in their final semester. Students are required to meet with their faculty coordinator prior to the semester for approval of their project or use of workplace experience for credit.
CNT A276: Individual Technical Project
This is a 1-3 variable credit course for students pursuing a specific individual project.
This course requires instructor approval for scope of work, and the student is responsible
for producing this document before class admission. A minimum of 45 hours of student
effort is expected for each credit attempted for the course.
If the student desires a one-credit CNT A276 project, the CNT program may allow participation
in ongoing program developmental projects with minimal documentation required. The
scope of work document, class prerequisite of CNT A261, adequate technical knowledge
appropriate to the project, and faculty permission are all required for CNT A276.
CNT A282: Industry Workplace Experience
This is a 1-3 variable credit course for students pursuing workplace experience. The student is responsible for securing employment or workplace access from an employer. Communication between the CNT instructor, work supervisor, and student establishes time and performance expectations, generally centered around performing expected workplace tasks, and also completing an additional assignment that is outside of normal work expectations and will benefit both employer and student. A minimum of 45 hours of student effort is expected for each credit attempted for the course.
If student desires a one-credit CNT A282 class, it is possible that projects within the UAA campus framework reflecting workplace responsibilities can be coordinated by CNT course instructor. Faculty permission is required for CNT A282.
