Nov. 1 deadline: Faculty and staff need to migrate e-mail accounts to Microsoft Exchange

If you haven't completed your migration, time is running out. Get help here.

Today, e-mail is the glue that holds most organizations together. UAA's e-mail system has reached the end of its useful life as hardware is obsolete and software is no longer supported. The Chancellor's Cabinet has recently approved a recommendation to adopt Microsoft Exchange as the technology standard for electronic messaging and collaboration for UAA's faculty and staff.

Many UAA employees are already using campus Microsoft Exchange services and are familiar with the improved features, calendar management and collaboration tools. However, those employees who are not yet using Microsoft Exchange will need to 'opt-in' via a self-service mail migration Web site. The self-service mail migration Web site will automatically move your existing mail to Microsoft Exchange without losing anything. All of UAA's campuses and its employees need to be migrated to the new Microsoft Exchange e-mail system by Nov. 1, 2009.

For faculty and staff who are not familiar with Microsoft Exchange and would like face-to-face training, short-course training sessions will be offered weekly throughout the semester. More information on this effort -- or to self migrate your e-mail -- visit UAA's Exchange Migration Web site.
