May 26, 2011: Consider a study exchange with the Deakin University in Australia

by Kathleen McCoy  |

Thursday, May 26, 4 p.m. Rasmuson Hall, Room 204

What do Australia and Alaska have in common besides untamed wilderness, unsurpassed natural beauty, multicultural, cosmopolitan cities and friendly people? Modern universities offering a multitude of educational opportunities!

One such opportunity awaits you at UAA's exchange partner, Deakin University. If you have ever wondered what it would be like to study in the land down under, grab a front row seat Thursday at 4 p.m. in RH 204 when Ally Scale, Study Abroad and Exchange Coordinator from Deakin, stops in to highlight Deakin's offerings.

For a preview, take a peek at the information posted on the Office of International Affairs website (events and study abroad links). Light refreshments will be served.

UAA exchange students pay tuition to UAA, student fees, housing and other school-related expenses to the host institution. As with all UAA-affiliated study abroad and exchange opportunities, you maintain your admission status at UAA, earn resident credit, and are able to use qualifying financial aid as long as you coordinate your program through the Office of International Affairs.

For further information about this presentation, as well as UAA's study abroad and exchange programs, please contact Leslie Tuovinen, International Affairs coordinator, (907) 786-4135 or anlat@uaa.alaska.edu.
