Spring 2013: How would you green up campus?

by Michelle Saport  |

This past fall semester, USUAA Student Government began collecting a green fee of $3 per semester from students enrolled at UAA's main campus. This fee supports student sustainability projects and research. Sustainability is defined as economically sound, socially just and/or environmentally wise, so the emphasis is not exclusively on environmental projects.

USUAA raised $34,000 through this fee in fall 2012 and is now accepting proposals for funds and projects to promote sustainability efforts on the UAA campus. The proposal deadline has been extended to April 5, 2013. Students in any discipline of study may request funding if they are enrolled in at least three credits.
