Bill Blanas Celebration of Life
by Green & Gold News |
It is with great sadness we share that Vasillios (Bill) Blanas passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 30. He was a valued member of our UAA family throughout his journey as a student, alumni and most recently as the Apprenticeship Coordinator representing the UA system under the Community and Technical College (CTC).
Bill developed the diesel mechanic apprenticeship for CTC and greatly assisted with the newly adopted apprenticeship for research technicians. Most recently, he was working with UAA's College of Health and the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development to help establish UAA as a training provider for various apprenticeships in a variety of medical occupations. He will be sincerely missed.
Please keep Bill's family in your thoughts as they go through this difficult time.
A Celebration of Life is being held at Creekside Park in Anchorage on July 18 at 4 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend. The address for Creekside Park is 7122 E. 6th Ave., Anchorage, AK 99504. The celebration will be potluck style and is posted on Facebook.
