Howl Days Orientations

Welcome future Seawolves! Howl Days orientations are designed for you as an incoming student to UAA, whether as a first-time freshman (never attended college before), transfer student, or student returning to college after a long break. Attending orientation, which is expected of all incoming students, affords you the opportunity to make valuable connections with UAA students, staff and faculty while getting accurate information about life at UAA.

We offer a variety of orientation styles, depending on the time of the year.  Attending Howl Days is FREE for students. We also welcome guests at a $25 fee per person. Fees cover a continental breakfast, lunch, and UAA gift. This fee can be paid by credit card or charged directly to your UAA student account with your tuition and other student fees. To learn more about orientation and which you should attend, please visit our Orientation Styles page, FAQs, or Contact Us for more information.

Why is orientation important, you ask? Orientation will relieve common anxieties about starting college, and new students who make these valuable connections tend to:

  • Be more successful in their transition to college
  • Be more likely to be satisfied with their college experience
  • Achieve better grades
  • Graduate from their degree program
