How to make Honey Soy Broiled Salmon
Ingredients
Honey Soy Broiled Salmon
-
1 green onion, minced
-
2 Tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
-
1 Tablespoon rice vinegar
-
1 Tablespoon honey 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
-
1 pound salmon fillet, skinned and cut into 4 portions
-
1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
Preparation Instructions
Honey Soy Broiled Salmon
-
The sauce: thoroughly mix the green onion, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey and ginger in a small bowl until the honey is dissolved.
-
Place salmon portions in a sealable plastic bag. Add 3 tablespoons of the sauce into the bag, seal, refrigerate, and let marinate 15 minutes. Save the remaining sauce.
-
Preheat broiler.
-
Line a small baking pan with foil and coat with cooking spray.
-
Transfer the salmon to the pan, skinned side down. Discard the marinade.
-
Broil salmon 4 to 6 inches from the heat source until cooked through (145 degrees Fahrenheit), approximately 6 to 10 minutes.
-
While the salmon is cooking, toast the sesame seeds in a skillet on the stovetop over medium heat (no need to add oil to the skillet). After 30 seconds, swirl the sesame seeds in the pan with a spoon or spatula so they brown evenly for 3 to 4 minutes. Set aside when done.
-
Once your salmon is done, drizzle the it with the remaining sauce (not the sauce that had the raw fish, this is a food safety hazard). Garnish with the toasted sesame seeds.
