Each semester at UAA, students from various colleges and majors collaborate with professors to help them achieve success with community engagement projects. Community Engaged Student Assistants, also known as CESA students, play a vital role in conducting research and connecting UAA to the greater Alaska community.
Former Governor Sean Parnell was launching his Choose Respect Initiative, a campaign to end the epidemic of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child sexual abuse in the state. His administration tapped the University of Alaska Anchorage's Justice Center to help provide research and data to measure the effectiveness of the campaign.
