Governor Sean Parnell appointed Gloria ONeill and reappointed Dale Anderson to the University of Alaska Board of Regents.

The 11-member board manages the universitys property, land, and financial assets; sets tuition rates; appoints the university president; and governs the government and instruction of the university. Appointees to the board of regents are subject to confirmation by the Legislature.

ONeill, of Anchorage, has served as president and chief executive officer of Cook Inlet Tribal Council since 1998. She also serves as an Annie E. ONeill served on the board of directors for the Alaska Federation of Natives, Anchorage Museum of History and Art, Anchorage Community Land Trust and UAA Advisory Board. She earned a bachelors degree in sociology from UAA and an MBA from Alaska Pacific University, and is appointed to a full eight-year term.

Anderson, a lifelong resident of Juneau, has broad private and public sector experience, having spent 40 years in the financial services and tourism industries. He is an entrepreneur, and has served as legislative staff, commissioner on the Alaska Commercial Fisheries Entry Commission and assemblyman for the City and Borough of Juneau. He earned a bachelors degree in business administration from Oral Roberts University and a certificate of judicial development in administrative law from the National Judicial College, University of Nevada-Reno. Anderson is reappointed to a full eight-year term.
