Grads getting published, books to add to your reading list

Sara Loewen (M.F.A. '12) recently published her first book, "Gaining Daylight." This memoir tells the story of her life on two islands: Kodiak, where she spends the winter teaching writing at UAA's Kodiak College, and Uyak Bay, where she spends the summer fishing commercially for salmon with her husband and two sons.

 

 

 Christine Byl (M.F.A. '05) is releasing her first book in April from Beacon Press, "Dirt Work: An Education in the Woods," that chronicles her years spent as a seasonal trail worker in Montana's Glacier National Park and Alaska's Denali National Park.

 

 

 

Ekaterina (Bezrodnaya) Walter (B.B.A. Finance '01) debuts her business title "Think Like Zuck: The Five Business Secrets of Facebook's Improbably Brilliant CEO," published by McGraw Hill.
