TRIO Programs @ UAA
TRIO programs are grant funded through the United States Department of Education and are designed to help students enter into and complete post-secondary education.
TRIO National Day of Service is a nationally organized event between colleges and universities across the country that unite together to bring awareness and advocate for TRIO Programs.

Student Support Services (SSS)
The TRIO SSS team assists first-generation, Pell grant-eligible, and/or students who experience disabilities to succeed while at UAA and graduate.TRIO Student Support Services is a fully-funded TRIO program of the U.S. Department of Education in the amount of $228,186.00 annually. Sec.402D HIGHER EDUCATION ACT OF 1965 SEC.402D.20 U.S.C 1070a-14.
Upward Bound (UB)
The Upward Bound program (UB) serves students in 9-12th grades in West and Bartlett High Schools in the Anchorage School District. UB prepares students to successfully complete high school & enroll in post-secondary education.
Each TRI0 Upward Bound is a fully-funded TRIO program of the U.S. Department of Education in the amount of $257,500.00 annually. Sec 402F Higher Education Act of 1965 SEC. 402C.20 U.S.C. 1070a–13.
Past TRIO Programs @ UAA
Educational Talent Search (ETS)
UAA ETS staff assisted underrepresented populations with achieving a college education, serving as advocates for participating students. As of August 2016, this grant was not renewed and was closed in December 2016.
Educational Opportunity Center (EOC)
UAA EOC staff worked to increase the number of adult participants who enroll in post-secondary education institutions. As of August 2016, this grant was not renewed and was closed in December 2016.
