Show off your school pride and share what makes your journey unforgettable! Whether it’s your favorite study spot, campus hangout or the moment you found your community — find your reason to give and share it with us for a chance to win a prize toward a UAA fund of your choice!

Seek, snap and share your school colors and/or campus moments that inspire you. Who knows? Your post could make the biggest impact!

Rules and guidelines

How to enter:

• Make posts and your social media profile public. If your account is private, we will not be able to see your post.
• Include the hashtags #49HoursForAlaska.
  
• Tag @uaanchorage on Facebook and X or @ua.anchorage on Instagram.
  • Tag your favorite UAA college, campus or program for extra reach! (optional)
• Include link to Giving Day webpage: givingday.alaska.edu/UAA
  • Champions, you can use your custom referral link.

Rules:

• Original competition post cannot be posted by an official UAA account or UAA student organization account.
• Multiple submissions per account are allowed.
• Must follow entry guidelines for chosen category.
• Contest opens Tuesday, March 25, at noon.
• Contest ends Thursday, March 27, at 1 p.m.
• Winners are determined by most reactions and comments on a post (although shares don't count toward the total, don't forget they're a good way to increase engagement). In the event of a tie, the winners will be chosen at random.
• Winners will be contacted via social media.
• First place winner will be granted $1,000 to designate to a UAA fund of their choice.
• Second place winner will be granted $500 to designate to a UAA fund of their choice.

Vote with your donation - Anchorage Campus Funds

Vote with your donation! The fund with the most donors will receive a $5,000 bonus. If there is a tie, winner will be chosen at random among tied parties.

*UAA Anchorage Campus funds (excluding athletics) qualify.

Vote with your donation - Community Campus Funds

Vote with your donation! The fund with the most donors will receive a $5,000 bonus. If there is a tie, winner will be chosen at random among tied parties.

*Mat-Su, Kodiak, Kenai Peninsula, Prince William Sound funds qualify.

UAA Athletics - Vote with your donation (remember the minimum donation is $5) 

• Most Donors Challenge – The UAA Athletics team with the most donors to their Excellence fund (on the Giving Day site) will win $5,000, courtesy of Coca-Cola Bottling of Alaska.
• First to 50 Donors – The first UAA Athletics team to reach 50 donors to their Excellence fund (on the Giving Day site) will unlock a $500 gift from Dede Allen.
• First Hour Challenge – All donors who give to an Athletics Excellence fund (on the Giving Day site) in the first hour of Giving Day (March 25 at noon) will be entered into a drawing. The donor who wins the drawing will choose which Athletics Excellence fund (on the Giving Day site) they want to receive the $3,000 gift.
• Final Day Challenge – All donors who give on March 27, to an Athletics Excellence fund (on the Giving Day site) will be entered into a drawing.  The donor who wins the drawing will choose which Athletics Excellence fund (on the Giving Day site) they want to receive the $3,000 gift.
• All Donor Challenge—All donors who give to an Athletics Excellence fund (on the Giving Day site) from March 25 to March 27 will be entered into a drawing. The donor who wins the drawing will choose which Athletics Excellence fund (on the Giving Day site) they want to receive the $3,000 gift.

Be a Giving Day Champion

• Register to be a UA Giving Day Champion and automatically be entered into a drawing to win a round-trip Alaska Airlines voucher.
• In addition, Champions that connect at least one donor during UA Giving Day will be entered to win a university-branded swag bag.
  •  University swag bag winners will be announced and notified following UA Giving Day.

Share your passion on social media

Make a public post on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, or the UA Giving Day website using the hashtag #49HoursForAlaska from March 17 - 27 at 1 p.m.

Each post counts as a separate entry to win.

Record a quick thank you video for our generous Giving Day donors!

Take a moment and record a brief video of yourself saying something like "Thank You!" or "Thank you for supporting UAA!" in any language. Please identify which language you're speaking in the video if other than English.

Feel free to share a bit about yourself such as your name, major, where you're from, favorite thing about UAA, etc. 
 
Every student who submits a thank you video by March 27 will be entered in a drawing to win one round-trip Alaska Airlines voucher  — the drawing will be held the week after UAA Giving Day!
