Biography

Enzina Marrari is a visual and performance artist, curator, educator and community organizer. She believes that art is a tool for communication and connection and strives to create intimate and shared experiences. Enzina currently lives and works in Anchorage, Alaska where she finds inspiration in her surrounding environment, in the confrontation of the hard stuff and in the stories of her peers. She lives by the belief that each person has the power to positively impact the world. She received a B.A. in Sculpture and Figure Drawing from the University of Alaska Anchorage, and a M.A. in Studio Art, Installation and Environmental Art at New York University.

She is a 2018 recipient of the Alaska Journal of Commerce’s Top 40 under 40, a 2017 Rasmuson Foundation Artist Fellow, and a 2015 Connie Boochever Fellow. She has received an Awesome Foundation grant, a Career Opportunity Grant through the Alaska State Council on the Arts, a Rasmuson Foundation Individual Artist Award, a Radical Arts for Women grant, and was nominated for an emerging artist award through the Joan Mitchell Foundation. She has been an artist in residence at the Cill Rialaig Artist Center in Kerry, Ireland and at the Proyecto ‘ace Artist Residency Center in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
