Arts Scholarships

There are eight fine arts scholarships available to UAA Art students as well as numerous general scholarships through the Office of Student Financial Assistance. All scholarship applications must be completed on UAOnline. Applicants are required to write three small essays describing educational goals, activities outside of the classroom, as well as a personal statement.

CAS - ART - Scholarships


The purpose of the Emi Chance for Aspiring Arts Scholarship is to offer financial assistance for tuition and other related educational expenses to a full-time student attending the University of Alaska Anchorage who has declared a major in Art (for Drawing and/or Painting) who has Junior class standing. Award amount is a minimum of $500 per academic year.
The purpose of the Muriel Hannah Scholarship In Art Fund is to offer financial assistance for tuition and other educational expenses to full-time students who are formally admitted into a degree-seeking program at the University of Alaska Anchorage and who have a demonstrated talent in art. Award amount is a minimum of $500 per academic year.  

 

The purpose of the Ken Gray Endowment Scholarship Fund is to offer financial assistance for tuition and other educational expenses to full-time junior or senior students who are formally admitted into a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Fine Arts degree-seeking program in the area of sculpture and/or performance art as it relates to the visual art field at the University of Alaska Anchorage.
The purpose of the Paul G. Landis Art Endowed Scholarship is to offer financial assistance for tuition and other related educational expenses to a part-time or full-time student attending the University of Alaska Anchorage who has declared a major in Art. Award amount is a minimum of $1000 per academic year.

 

Saradell Ard Art Scholarships
The purpose of the Saradell Ard Art Scholarships is to offer financial assistance for tuition and other educational expenses for two full-time University of Alaska Anchorage students who are formally admitted into an Art degree-seeking program. The first award is for a BFA candidate whose work shows the most promise during his/her junior year for use during his/her senior year at UAA. The second award is to an art major that has returned to college to prepare for a second career. These scholarships are talent scholarships and no consideration will be given for financial need.
Roger DeSmith Creative Art in Ceramics Scholarship
 The purpose of the Roger DeSmith Creative Art in Ceramics Scholarship is to provide tuition, tools/materials, and other support to Art students focusing on Ceramics at the University of Alaska Anchorage. Award amount is minimum $500 per student, maximum $1,000 per academic year. This scholarship is awarded at the discretion of the Ceramics faculty.
 
 

 

Excellence in Ceramics
The purpose of the Excellence in Ceramics Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to either degree seeking or non degree seeking students who are studying ceramics at the University of Alaska Anchorage. Award amount is a maximum of $1000 per academic year. Both talent and financial need are taken into consideration. This scholarship is awarded at the discretion of the Ceramics faculty.
