Slideshow: Medical assisting students learn EMT skills

This week, students in the medical assisting program are learning EMT skills from UAA's Fire and Emergency Services program director Chris Lau during Medical Assistants Recognition Week.

"Being prepared for medical emergencies is extremely important to all medical professionals," says Lau. "We enjoy teaching these skills to our students so they are capable if an emergency occurs."⁠

Some of the many skills the students practiced were wound packing, splinting, and using a tourniquet. ⁠See the photos below:
