As a future educator enrolled at UAA in an SOE degree program, you will need to submit various applications to facilitate placement in practicum and internship experiences (all students) and advancement through teacher candidacy gateways (if enrolled in a licensure degree option). Use the sections below to follow find the applications applicable to you and their relative due dates. Please use the following application deadlines for planning purposes. Early Childhood Development (AAS)

• Submit the Initial Background Check Application before the end of your first semester (or sooner if contacted by the Placement Outreach Specialist)
• Submit the Practicum Placement Application by Oct 15 of the fall semester you enroll in EDEC A206. 

Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education (BAEC)

PK-3 Licensure

The gateway applications and teacher candidacy phases serve to create opportunities to assess and reflect on professional development as a future teacher. Note that gateway applications include specific academic, examination, and key assessment requirements. Refer to each page for more information.

• Submit the Initial Background Check Application before the end of your first semester (or sooner if contacted by the Placement Outreach Specialist)
