Dance Studio

The Dance Studio is a 30’ x 30’ room used mainly for martial arts and aerobic classes. The studio has one wall with mirrors and stretching bars.

The Dance Studio facility is temporally closed while HPER is using for the human performance lab.

Fitness Center

The Fitness Center was remodeled in 2015. Located on the upper level of the AASC, it features the latest in Nautilus equipment, ellipticals, treadmills, stairmaster, Life Fitness cycles, and free weight equipment.

Gym

The home of UAA Intramurals and Campus Recreation since 1977, the AVIS Alaska Sports Complex gymnasium seats up to 900 fans. For Open Recreation the gym has available times for basketball and volleyball.

The Gym is available for rent.

Swimming Pool

A 25 yard by 25 meter “L” shaped pool is the perfect place to cool off or workout. There are 6 lanes to separate the swimmers. For open swim please note that we require 1 guard to every 25 swimmers. Please notify us well in advance if you bring in a party (large or small) or we may not able able to accommodate your program.

The Pool is also available for rent for parties and team practices. 

Ice Rink

Home ice for the Varsity Seawolves Hockey Team, the rink is also used for public rental and open recreation. Seating 750, the venue can also be transformed into an arena for ice shows or hockey games. 

The Ice Rink is also available for rent for parties and team practices.

Olympic Weightroom

Opened in 2015, the Olympic Weightroom was designed for heavy lifting. This room is located on the lower level of the AASC and features six squat racks, a lifting platform, and free weight equipment.

Stationary Bike Room

Opened in 2015, the Stationary Bike Room is located on the upper level of the AASC. With 17 stationary bikes, this room also houses both HPER classes and REVcycle classes during the Fall and Spring semesters.
