Prospective Debaters

So you want to be an award-winning debater?

Without a doubt, Seawolf Debate is the place to be! We have a long history of success and excellence that we welcome you to join in.

Membership Requirements

Membership in the Seawolf Debate Program is open to any enrolled students of the University of Alaska Anchorage. There are additional requirements for travel including maintaining a 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher and being enrolled in 6 credits. All selections of members for travel are the exclusive decision of the coaching staff and determined through the observation of individual performance, dedication and preparation.

To be in consideration for travel, members must (minimally):

  1. Attend every Tuesday evening and Friday morning practice session.

  2. Have at least one individual coaching session per week.

  3. Keep current on world affairs.

  4. Participate in the preparation of research briefs for team distribution as needed.

Practice Sessions

All practices are held in the squad room which is located in Administration Building Room 266.

REQUIRED
5:30 PM - 8:30 PM Tuesdays (while school is in session)
9:30 AM - 12:30 PM Fridays (while school is in session)

OPTIONAL
4:00 PM - 6:00 PM Thursdays as arranged

  • Tuition waivers are available for dedicated and competitive members of the Seawolf Debate Program by application each semester
