Shelter Information from the Anchorage Coalition to End Homelessness Shelter List 

  1. Coordinated Entry Assessment: complete/update an assessment which places you on a prioritization list which provides housing to the most vulnerable first (meaning wait times vary from person to person) 
  2. Alaska Housing Finance Corporation: offers a range of rental assistance programs that support Alaskans in different stages of life.
  3. NeighborWorks Alaska: provides safe and stable housing opportunities to chronic and literally homeless individuals and families with disabilities through Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and State-funded rental assistance grants
  4. Cook Inlet Housing Authority: assistance for finding housing, their team will assess eligibility for reduced rent and properties with no income restrictions
  5. Choosing Our Roots: LGBTQ+ Youth Housing Assistance
  6. The Department of Residence Life on Campus is not able to provide emergency shelter. If you are interested in living on campus, you can learn more on the Department of Residence Life homepage.
  7. Basic Housing Assistance Program for rent/utility relief: 3rd Avenue Resource and Navigation Center 

Landlord and Tenant Helpline: a free helpline staffed by volunteer attorneys who provide assistance and guidance to tenants and landlords on housing situations and questions. 1-855-743-1001, Monday-Thursday, 6-8 p.m. (Alaska Standard Time).
