Volunteer FAQ

Commencement Volunteer FAQ

  • Where do I go?

    Training, all positions, and the ceremony will take place at the Alaska Airlines Center, 3550 Providence Dr. Please enter through the main doors and follow the signs to the volunteer lounge.

  • Where do I park?

    Please see Parking and Maps in the right-hand menu of the commencement homepage for up-to-date parking information and maps.

  • What do I wear?

    Please wear plain black or dark green clothing and comfortable shoes. NO JEANS. Green vests will be given to those volunteers without robes. If you have volunteered in the past and have a green commencement polo shirt, you can wear that instead of the vest.

  • Is lunch provided?

    Yes! Lunch will be provided and available in the volunteer lounge.

  • How long is the ceremony?
    The spring ceremony runs approx. 2.5 hours. The fall ceremony runs approx. 2 hours. Once all guests and graduates have cleared the arena, your responsibilities are complete.

Hooding Volunteer FAQ

  • Where do I go?
    Training, all positions, and the ceremony will take place at the Wendy Williamson Auditorium, 2533 Providence Dr. Please meet in the lobby of the Professional Studies Building
  • Where do I park?
    Please see Parking and Maps in the right-hand menu of the commencement homepage for up-to-date parking information and maps.
  • What do I wear?
    Please wear clean, plain, dark-colored clothing and comfortable shoes. NO JEANS. You will be given a green vest to designate you as a volunteer upon your arrival.
  • How long is the ceremony?
    The spring hooding ceremony runs approx. 2 hours. The fall hooding ceremony runs approx. 1 hour. Once all guests have cleared the auditorium, your responsibilities are complete.
