Meet the University Advancement team and learn about the different ways our office
supports students and the university.
Development / Giving to UAA
Our passion is connecting donors’ philanthropic hopes and dreams to university priorities.
Our focus is on building awareness and increasing support for UAA. We work with people
like you who give to UAA, knowing they're supporting the future of Alaska. Thanks
to donors like you, UAA is making a positive impact on our economy and the individual
lives of our students. We are graduating tomorrow's nurses, teachers, business leaders,
engineers and scientists. By making a gift today, you can be part of Alaska's successes
tomorrow. We look forward to connecting with you. Please contact us to learn more
about how you can help.
University Marketing and Communications (UMAC) is the public-facing information service
for UAA. The team specializes in responding to media inquiries, supporting the Office
of the Chancellor with newsletters and crisis communications, creating materials for
development officers and alumni relations initiatives, issuing press releases and
maintaining a Media Room with images and information resources for reporters, publishing
online and print news-feature publications serving both the internal and external
audiences at UAA and across Alaska. In short, we work to tell UAA’s Amazing Stories.
The Office of Alumni Relations works in partnership with the UAA Alumni Association
to foster lifelong connections between alumni and UAA. Alumni activities include Green
& Gold Gala, Homecoming, Alumni ParTee: Nine in the Spine, and chapter events. Membership
in the association is open, and free, to all alumni. Chapters are organized by academics,
special interests and geographic locations. The association encourages students to
stop by the Alumni Center to find out about student-alumni events and to foster connections
with alumni in your career field. Contact Alumni Relations directly to find out about
events and alumni chapters of interest to you.
Numerous academic ceremonies and community celebrations mark life on the University
of Alaska Anchorage campus. These events welcome our students, staff and faculty,
celebrate graduates and engage the Anchorage community while providing opportunities
to highlight our talent and achievements. Events serve as the front porch of UAA,
opening our doors for all to learn and explore. University Advancement is proud to lead many of UAA’s crowning occasions including
commencement, the graduate degree hooding ceremony, convocation, building groundbreakings
and milestones, grand openings and more. We hope you will join us for these momentous
occasions!
University Advancement works to support the mission, vision and aspirations of the
University of Alaska Anchorage as set forth in the university's strategic plan, UAA 2027.
