Fine Art Galleries
The Kimura Gallery
The Kimura Gallery, located on the second floor of the Fine Arts Building, is an exhibition space that provides students, faculty and the community with the opportunity to view and experience artwork that explores recent developments in national and international contemporary art. The gallery programming is used to enhance the curriculum of studio art and art history classes and expand students thinking and approach to making art. Bachelor of Fine Arts students also present their thesis exhibitions in this space prior to their graduation.
The Arc Gallery
The Arc gallery, located just outside of the Consortium Library, is dedicated to enriching the UAA and Anchorage community by producing exhibitions featuring emerging, mid-career, and established Alaskan artists. The Arc is also a learning space managed by the UAA Art Department in conjunction with it's Independent Research in Curatorial Practices course.
The Hugh McPeck Gallery
The Hugh McPeck Gallery, located on the second floor of the Student Union, showcases artwork created by UAA Students. Each art exhibit opens with a Thursday reception and lasts for several weeks.
