APPLICATION PROCESS

There are three steps to our enrollment process:

  1. Application
  2. Admission
  3. Registration

Most participants will be admitted during one of two lotteries, the Early Bird Lottery or the regular Lottery. After the lotteries have passed, any sessions with unfilled spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. All sessions are open until filled. Once a session is filled, a wait list will be maintained in case of cancellations.

  • March 1st - Application Opens
  • March 18th - Early Bird Lottery Deadline
  • March 21st - Early Bird Lottery Results Emailed to Families
  • April 22nd - Lottery Deadline
  • April 25th - Lottery Results Emailed to Families  

After April 25th, participants will be admitted first come, first served. However, our camps often fill up to capacity with a long wait list, so we encourage families to apply early if possible. 

  1. Application

    Each year, you must create a new parent account in our online application system to apply. You must create a new account even if you applied in previous years. After creating an account, you will receive a verification link in your email inbox. Please check your spam filter if you do not find this email.  

    Our online application system was designed by one of our former staff members, Computer Science alum Zak Stone and his team. This system will allow you to log in, add multiple children, and change their session preferences up until the Lottery Deadline. 

    During the application process, you will be asked to rank the topics your children are interested in, so please read the session descriptions. Within five business days of completing the application, you will receive an Application Confirmation Email to verify their current session preferences. If you do not receive an application confirmation email within five business days of completing the application, please contact us at sea@alaska.edu.

  2. Admission

    You will be notified of your children’s assigned session(s) via email. This will happen after the lottery deadlines.

    Once your application has been processed, you will receive an Admissions Email identifying the session(s) into which your child has been admitted. Applicants are limited to a maximum of two sessions during the lottery phase. If there are any open spots after the lotteries have been run, then you may apply for additional sessions. 

    If admitted during the Early Bird Lottery, your child will be accepted into only one session, but will automatically be re-entered into the regular Lottery. 

  3. Registration

    Your Admissions Email will contain instructions and links for completing registration. A complete registration consists of the registration form, payment, and a signed liability/media release. The release will be sent electronically after completing payment. If you are unable to complete the registration or pay the fee online, please contact us at sea@alaska.edu

    Once we have received all your forms and payment, you will receive an Enrollment Email to confirm your enrollment.

    One week before the start of your session, you will also receive a Pre-Session Email with directions, parking information, and schedule information.
