Before joining the faculty at UAA, Elizabeth Perry served as a career staff attorney for the federal judiciary, where she gained nearly two decades of experience working with judges in the U.S. District Court for the District of Alaska across both civil and criminal dockets.

Before her federal service, Ms. Perry practiced real estate and municipal law at Quarles & Brady in Milwaukee. She earned her J.D. with Highest Distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law, graduating Order of the Coif and receiving the ILSA Francis Deak Award for her published work on international planning law. She also holds an M.A. in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Iowa and a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Originally from Rochester, Minnesota, Ms. Perry and her husband David moved to Alaska for outdoor adventure in 2007. Drawn in by Anchorage's community and the surrounding landscape, they chose to make it home and now enjoy raising their three boys in West Anchorage.
