Undergraduate Admissions and Placement Tests

  • Accuplacer

    Accuplacer is a computerized placement test to assess your reading and writing skills. Your Accuplacer score will help you and your advisor make informed decisions about which Writing course is best for you in your first semester. The Accuplacer can be completed in-person at one of our testing sites or remotely at home. Click the button below to schedule your placement test.

  • ACT

    The American College Testing (ACT) is a standardized entrance exam that tests students’ knowledge on the four following categories: English, Mathematics, Reading, and Scientific Reasoning. There is an optional Writing essay assessment that can be completed as well. Click the button below to check and register for the next available testing date.

  • ALEKS

    ALEKS is a math and statistics placement assessment taken prior to registering for your first class. This assessment will allow you to be placed into the correct course in mathematics, statistics, or other quantitative subjects. This assessment can be completed in-person at one of our testing sites or remotely at home. Click the button below to learn more about this assessment.   • SAT

    The Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) is a standardized entrance exam that tests students’ knowledge on the three following categories: Reading, Writing and Language, and Mathematics.   • TEAS

    The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) is a standardized, multiple choice exam completed by students entering the UAA Dental Hygiene or admitting to the UAA School of Nursing. The TEAS tests students’ knowledge on the four following categories: Reading, English and Language Usage, Science, Mathematics.     Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is a standardized test that measures your knowledge and application of your English language skills. Graduate Admissions and Entrance Tests

  • GRE

    The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) offers the computer-based General Test for admission to graduate, business and law school programs. The GRE General Test scores students’ knowledge on three of the following subjects: Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning and Analytical Writing. 

    The UAA Testing Center also offers paper-based GRE subject tests. This test is intended for students who have an undergraduate major or extensive background in one of the following disciplines: Mathematics, Physics, Psychology.

  • MAT

    The Miller Analogies Test (MAT) is a high-level test of analytical ability that requires the solution of problems stated as analogies. The MAT consists of 120 partial analogies that involves general academic knowledge and analytical skills acquired over years of study and learning. Click the button below to learn more about MAT.
