UAA Alert! Anchorage Campus Inclement Weather Notice for Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025.

Due to unsafe road conditions for Anchorage and surrounding areas, UAA’s Anchorage campus will be on a delayed start today, Thursday, Dec. 4. Campus will open at 10 a.m. to allow for safer travel.

Tutoring and Learning Commons: manages the Writing Center, Math Lab, Nursing Tutoring, Science Tutoring, Engineering Tutoring, Department of Languages Tutoring, Communication & Presentation Coaching, Music Tutoring, and more:

Academic Coaches: one-on-one drop-ins or scheduled meetings with you to build your study skills, help you navigate UAA software, set realistic goals and stay on track to achieve them.

    • English Language Partners: one-on-one support through Language Partners for students who want to develop their English Language comprehension and usage.

Disability Support Services (DSS): coordinates support services for UAA students who experience short-term and long-term, physical and mental health disabilities in the provision of equal access to all curricular and co-curricular programs, facilities, services, and activities.

TRiO Student Support Services: helps bachelor degree-seeking students with financial assistance/literacy, coaching/guidance, career exploration/degree planning, skill development, and more

Academic Policies & Processes:

    • Request for Late Add or Retroactive Withdrawal: appeal to withdraw from classes past the withdrawal deadline due to extenuating circumstances
    • Academic Renewal: offers undergraduate students who experienced significant academic challenges while enrolled in their program the opportunity to renew their GPA by requesting that one semester or two consecutive semesters be “renewed,” meaning that all renewed credits will be excluded from future GPA and Latin Honors calculations. 
    • Fresh Start: offers undergraduate students who experienced significant academic challenges the opportunity to return to UAA after a two year period and begin their college journey anew with their entire prior academic record disregarded
    • Grade Dispute Resolution: processes for both formal and informal complaints and disputes related to academic grade
