International Transcript Evaluation by World Education Services

Official non-US high school (excluding US military) or post-secondary transcripts must be submitted to World Education Services (WES). Do not submit foreign transcripts directly to UAA. WES will analyze international coursework/degrees and provide US equivalents to UAA. The WES requirement applies to all applicants who have attended any institution outside of the United States, (excluding US military) regardless of their citizenship status.

How does the Admissions Team decide which transcripts are required?

The transcripts required for admission to UAA vary depending on the applicant's level of education. Here is an overview of what is required for each level. Which specific transcripts you are required to submit will be listed on your application checklist. Log back in to the Application Portal to review your requirements and admission status.

  • Freshman

Freshman applicants are current high school students or graduates who have never attended college.

    High School Transcripts

Applicants who are still attending high school submit their high school transcript twice. The first one will be an in-progress transcript, the second will be a final transcript showing the graduation date. Only the final transcript is required; however, the in-progress will allow an earlier admittance.

    1. An unofficial, in-progress transcript before graduation
This transcript can be attached to the application or emailed to UAA. The unofficial, in-progress transcript must include the following:
      • The student's full name and date of birth
      • The name of the school
      • All completed semesters of high school with grades
      • A cumulative GPA
    2. An official, final transcript after graduation
This transcript must be sent to UAA directly from the school. The official, final transcript must include the following:
      • The student's full name and date of birth
      • The name of the school
      • All completed semesters of high school with grades
      • A cumulative GPA
      • A posted date of graduation

Anchorage School District graduates can order transcripts online with the Anchorage School District request for transcripts form.

Important Note: Non-high school graduates without a GED should see the UAA catalog for more information.
