UAA and the UA system offer a number of services for desktop software from Microsoft, Adobe, Apple, and others.
Available Software

Academic Discounts
Students, faculty, and staff are generally eligible for discounts from most software vendors. Inquire with the vendor directly or check their website.
Departments also qualify for academic discounts. Before a departmental purchase is made, please check to see if we have volume licensing available for the product. Volume licensing is only available for University departments and organizations.

Microsoft Office 365
Office 365 combines the familiar Microsoft Office desktop suite with cloud-based versions of Microsoft's communications and collaboration services including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Online to help users be productive from virtually anywhere through the Internet. Additionally, Office 365 gives you the ability to install the full version of Microsoft Office for PC or Mac on up to 5 personal devices at no cost. Students are also now able to use Lync for Instant Messaging, Audio/Video calling, and have the ability to create and participate in Lync web conferences. Each user will also have unlimited storage for their use through OneDrive provided by Office 365. Live document sharing and editing will be available through Office 365 with the familiar Microsoft Office applications.

Microsoft Campus Agreement
Information Technology Services has negotiated a Microsoft Campus Agreement that provides the University of Alaska faculty and staff with the use of selected Microsoft software applications. Software may be acquired and installed via three different programs.

UAA Students, faculty and staff can download software like antivirus and accessibility support software.
- Volume Licensed Software - UAA has volume licensing available to departments for many common vendors including Adobe, Autodesk, and Microsoft.
- UAA Software Downloads - UAA licenses certain software for all students, faculty and staff.
- Read&Write Assistive Technology - UAA maintains a site wide license for the Accessibility Suite from TextHelp.

UA Keyed Software
Employees can use University of Alaska bulk licensed software to save the University the cost of many individual program licenses. Please note that some of these applications and installers require prior installation of KeyAccess and configuration to rely on UA's KeyServer named keys.alaska.edu.
