The Information Technology Services department is responsible for UAA's information technology strategy, policy, and services. We work in partnership and coordination with distributed IT staff located on UAA campuses as well as with our colleagues at UAS, UAF and the System Office.

To enable teaching & learning, research, and community engagement through the application of technology for the University of Alaska Anchorage community.

Office of the CIO

The Office of the CIO provides strategic leadership for the ITS department including oversight of IT Governance, IS Strategy, IT Policies & Standards, and IT Project Managment.


IT Service Management

IT Service Management at ITS utilizes the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework as the basis for our IT Service Management strategy. Our IT Service Center operates as an ITIL Service Bureau organization.


IT Governance

IT Governance is the capability that evaluates, directs, and monitors decisions on the appropriate use of enterprise IT assets to achieve business outcomes through empowerment of the right leadership to sponsor, make and enforce the right IT decisions.


IT Policies & Standards

IT Policies are defined and approved by the Chief Information Officer in consultation with IT Governance bodies and key stakeholders.
