2013 SafeZone Celebration Week

by Michelle Saport  |

Launch and dessert reception: Thursday, April 11, 11-1 p.m. Student Union Cafeteria

Join us in launching UAA's Second Annual SafeZone Celebration Week with a dessert reception. The event will be hosted by Jess Dyhrdahl, leadership coordinator for Student Clubs & Greek Life.

The SafeZone program is designed to increase the overall campus community's understanding and awareness of issues faced by gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, allies (GLBTQA) and other marginalized persons. SafeZone became a part of the UAA community in November 2010, and now has 27 allies, comprised of UAA students, staff and community members, on campus and in the Anchorage community.

The program is housed within the Dean of Students Office. For more information about the UAA SafeZone Celebration Launch, Celebration Week activities or SafeZone training, please call (907) 786-1214 or email SafeZone@uaa.alaska.edu. You may also visit the SafeZone website or Facebook page.
