Register for the two-day virtual conference — Human Trafficking: Alaska & Beyond

Offered by the UAA Department of Human Services, this second annual conference on human trafficking focuses on the prevalence and incidence of trafficking and its impacts on Alaska Native and indigenous populations both in Alaska and throughout the nation.

Ginger Mongeau is retiring!

After more than 25 years of professional dedication, Ginger Mongeau, MPH, will be retiring from her research position in the Office of Institutional Research (IR). Ginger has had a full career at UAA. Over the years, she has advanced from a work study student in the Chancellor's office, to a project manager at the Center for Behavioral Health Research and Services, to her current position in IR. Ginger is appreciative of the many opportunities for educational, professional, and personal growth afforded by UAA. Ginger will be missed as she has built meaningful collaborative relationships at UAA. Ginger's last day will be June 4, 2021.

UAA startup wins young entrepreneur award in Norway

In April, chemistry major Michael Martinez was awarded the 2020 High North Young Entrepreneur Award for his startup Arctic Biotech Oath, which specializes in the green extraction of rare earth elements in circumpolar north countries.
