IT Services Virtual Server Maintenance

IT Services will be performing maintenance and enhancements to the virtual server environment beginning on Friday, June 2 at 10 p.m. through Monday, June 5 at 5 a.m. The work being performed will improve the performance and reliability of our virtual environment and is necessary for our continued operations.

Surgical technology program applications open

Surgical technicians are in high demand and our program prepares students by giving them hands-on experience using the latest surgical equipment in UAA’s state-of-the-art labs. Students receive real-world training through practicum placements in local medical facilities and work alongside working professionals in local hospitals and surgery centers.

June 13 Emergency Management Exercise

On June 13, UAA and community partners will be holding a full-scale exercise focusing on hazardous materials releases and active aggressor response. The exercise will take place in the Seawolf Sports Complex.

UAA researcher senses a solution to pipeline corrosion

On the North Slope there are thousands of small pipes that ultimately come together to feed into the big one — the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. Each of those pipes are a potential hazard, especially as they experience the effects of air, water and chemistry over long periods of time.

Summer rental available (July- mid-August)

A partially-furnished house in South Anchorage available from July 2 until August 14, 2023. The house has four rooms. I am renting out two rooms on the first floor.

Student Health and Counseling Center: closing briefly on May 19

The Student Health and Counseling Center will be closed for appointments from 8 - 11:30 a.m. on Friday. May 19. Appointment scheduling remains available; call 907-786-4050.

C-CERT hosts Basic Training Course

The UAA Campus- Community Emergency Response Team (C-CERT) recently conducted a basic training course with great success. As a result of this training, three UAA staff members have learned the skills and knowledge they need to be effective members of the campus CERT team.
