University of Alaska Press joins Chicago Distribution Center for book ordering and fulfillment in Alaska

University of Alaska Press is pleased to announce that all order fulfillment, shipping, returns and billing will be handled by the University of Chicago Press's Chicago Distribution Center (CDC), effective May 1, 2013. CDC has provided this service to us for orders generated in the Lower 48 and internationally for more than five years-while orders generated within Alaska were filled from our own warehouse.

We are pleased to have CDC take over as the sole distributor for UA Press books.

For wholesalers, bookstores, and libraries: Please place your orders through the Chicago Distribution Center. CDC is set up to receive orders via EDI, from trading partners who wish to submit orders via this method.

• Fax orders to (800) 621-8476 for orders within the U.S. and Canada or (773) 702-7212 for international orders; or
• Email orders to orders@press.uchicago.edu.

For individual customers: We welcome your online orders, as usual, via our secure e-commerce site. Alternatively, you may order our books from CDC by phone at (800) 621-2736. Walk-in customers may purchase and pick up books occasionally at the UA Press office in Fairbanks, but we will no longer maintain full case quantities. Customers may want to call ahead to check availability.

For authors: Authors wishing to obtain quantities of their books should contact UA Press Customer Service in advance to coordinate shipping, billing and delivery details. We will be glad to forward author orders directly to CDC. It has always been important for authors planning book events to notify us well in advance. In order to ensure timely delivery of books for an event, authors should make sure the venue places an order with CDC no less than three weeks in advance. Please contact UA Press Marketing, as well, if you are planning an event; we can help coordinate publicity and book delivery details.
